Harry’s Chocolate Shop is home to one most cherished traditions for Purdue University students and alumnus. The tradition is known as The Great Indoorsman challenge, where participants will spend 16 hours at Harry’s, having a drink every hour. Most students decide to take part of the long tradition their senior year as a final challenge before graduation.

The Great Indoorsman only has one rule; to stay at Harry’s from opening at 11:30 a.m. until closing at 3 a.m., while having a drink every hour. Despite only having one rule, completing challenge is not as easy as it sounds. One of the biggest pieces of advice given by those who have completed the challenge is to find different ways to stay entertained, whether it’s the company that you are with or the games that you play.

If you are thinking of completing The Great Indoorsman, make sure you do it with the right group of friends. Keep in mind that you will be spending 16 hours with them, so it is important to go with friends you know will help keep you entertained as well as make your overall experience more enjoyable and memorable.

Other than the company of the people you are with it is important to think of other creative ways to stay entertained. Those who have gone through the challenge have suggested that people have a deck of cards with them while at Harry's. People also choose to play Cards Against Humanity as well as various drinking games while participating in the challenge.
